Approach to Practice / Form of Mediation

I was trained in the transformative model of mediation. However, since each set of parties and their conflict are unique, I draw from a tool box of techniques and skills.

Background

My goal is to improve the quality of life for those with whom I work, whether through prevention or remediation of difficulties. To that end, I have broad and diverse experience working with children and families, including juvenile detention, group homes, and crisis intervention; as a K-12 teache, community college, and graduate school; as a permanency and adoption worker for DHS. I have been in private practice as a consultant, trainer, and mediator since 1999. I conduct custody/parenting plan evaluations, do parenting coordination, and provide child development training for new DHS caseworkers through Portland State University. I am on the mediator panels in the 6th judicial district, DHS for cooperative adoption, and the Department of Education' special eduction. I also voluntarily coordinate TeenScreen (a suicide program) at Pendleton High School. My resume is available on request.
