Room Sharing
If you’re interested in sharing a hotel room with another conference attendee, please let us know.  We’ll keep a list of people looking for roommates and do our best to coordinate these room shares. Email [email protected] if you are looking for a conference roommate.  Please include:
  • Your name, email address, and phone number.
  • Which nights you plan to stay (Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday).
  • Any special requirements or requests.
Homestays are a great way to help conference attendees keep costs down as well as enjoy Portland's fabulous hospitality.
Do you have room in your home in the Portland metro area that you would be willing to share with conference attendees from other areas?  Are you looking for a homestay during the conference?
If you would like to offer a homestay, please email [email protected] with the following information:
  • Your name, address, email address and phone number.
  • The number of people you can accommodate.
  • The dates housing is available (Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday nights).
  • The accommodations available (e.g. private room with queen bed, couch in living room, etc.).
  • Whether you are attending the conference and could provide transportation to/from the conference site.
  • Any additional information that might be useful (e.g. pets in the house, smoking/non-smoking, vegan/vegetarian friendly, etc.).
If you are looking for a homestay, please email [email protected] with the following information:
  • Your name, email address and phone number.
  • The number of people in your group requesting a homestay.
  • The dates that you need lodging (Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday nights).
  • Whether you’ll need a private room or are comfortable sleeping on a couch.
  • Whether you'll need transportation to/from the conference site.
  • Whether you have any special needs (e.g. allergies, no pets, smoking/non-smoking, etc.).
As homestay opportunities become available, we will contact those on our list.  Please be advised that we will not know how many homestays are available until closer to the conference so be sure you make alternative arrangements for housing.  We’ll do our best to find you a homestay and we’ll let you know one way or the other as soon as possible.

If you have questions about homestays, please contact [email protected] or 503-872-9775.
Couch Surfing
Another homestay option for the adventurous. One must become a member of CouchSurfing.org in order to participate. "CouchSurfing members share hospitality with one another. These exchanges are a uniquely rich form of cultural interaction. Hosts have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world without leaving home. 'surfers,' or travelers, are able to participate in the local life of the places they visit. We also give more people the chance to become travelers, because "surfing" lowers the financial cost of exploration."  Click here for more information on how to become involved in this program and to find a host in Portland.
