Hispanic/Latino Dispute Resolution Project

 PROJECT GOALS

GOAL #1

INCREASE OREGON HISPANIC/LATINO PARTICIPATION IN APPROPRIATE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Objective:

Increase the number of Hispanic/Latino youth, families, and community members trained and served by the current network of CDRP’s and partner agencies.

Increase the number of Hispanic/Latino mediators, staff, volunteers, and Board members working with CDRP’s.

Identify potential barriers to access service that exist in the Hispanic/Latino population. Improve CDRP and project partners staff understanding of those barriers.

 

GOAL #2

INCREASE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HISPANIC/LATINO NEEDS AND PREFERENCES FOR APPROPRIATE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Objective:

Improve understanding of Hispanic/Latino needs and preferences for dispute resolution services in Oregon.

Pioneer data collection about dispute resolution needs and preferences in the Oregon Hispanic/Latino population.

 

GOAL #3

UNDERSTAND AND ADDRESS CULTURALLY BASED CONFLICT

Objective:

Improve understanding of culturally based conflict in Oregon communities.

Explore how culturally based conflict can best be addressed through conflict resolution services provided by CDRP’s.

Explore relationship between the availability of culturally appropriate conflict resolution services and Hispanic/Latino community utilization.  

  GOAL #4

BUILD LINKAGES BETWEEN APPROPRIATE DISPUTE RESOLUTION SERVICES AND COMMUNITIES

Objective:

Improve dominant culture’s linkages with Hispanic/Latino service organizations, families, and other cultural organizations.
