Approach to Practice / Form of Mediation

Whatever it takes to bring the parties to negotiate. Each dispute will be different - the background and expectation of the parties and the nature of the dispute.

Background

As a land use hearing examiner and officer I have decided over 800 land use cases since 1995. As a private attorney and consultant if have experience with the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA), Urban Growth Boundary (UGB), public policy review, rule making, task forces with specific experience in special jurisdiction, financing and annexation, Due Process and "Takings" related issues. Executive Assistant to a Portland City Commissioner from 1981 through 1986. Acted as a chief operating officer of a portfolio that included Bureaus of Planning, Buildings, and Transportation. Executive Director of Multnomah Legal Aid Service from 1977 to 1981. Deputy Director of Multnomah Legal Aid Service: legislative experience and PUC rate case experience.

BA Psychology NYU 1966, Juris Doctor Fordham University 1969 - over 200 hours of mediation training from many providers

Fee Information

$250 an hour - unless there are mitigating circumstances, such as none of the parties can afford legal representation.
