Approach to Practice / Form of Mediation

RNW prefers a co-mediation model and we encourage face-to-face mediations whenever appropriate. Our mediators are trained in a facilitative approach.

Background

Resolutions Northwest was incorporated as a nonprofit in 1985 to provide mediation to juvenile offenders and their victims. Since then the organization has expanded its services to include neighborhood, consumer, landlord/tenant, workplace, family and school mediation services. RNW also provides community education, conflict resolution, mediation and school peer mediation training.

Education/Training

All staff who provide mediation services and our 100 volunteer mediators exceed state training guidelines for community programs. New mediators are mentored and evaluated by mediation specialists during their apprenticeship. Ongoing evaluation and continuing mediation education is offered and required.

Fee Information
