Approach to Practice / Form of Mediation

Tonya's approach is client centered, cooperative, and facilitative utilizing collaborative method if parties desire in a non-threatening and amicable setting. Tonya has been trained to utilize a "strategic toolbox" approach in mediation from master mediator/ trainer Forrest "Woody" Mosten and is flexible depending on the individual needs and dynamics of each unique family.


Tonya has devoted her career to family law since graduating from law school in 2001. She is currently a member of the Lewis & Clark Law School Alumni Board of Directors, a past board member of Oregon Women Law Foundation, helping women and minorities access justice, and remains an active mentor for law students looking to become mediators and peacemakers in the law. Outside of her law practice, Tonya devotes her time to her family including her husband and two little boys. You may find the Alexander family on Mt. Hood skiing, on the Columbia kite-surfing, or at Indian Beach surfing, depending on the season.
