Approach to Practice / Form of Mediation

I focus on each participant's interests and needs in mediation. It is my goal to assist participants in effectively communicating their concerns and needs so that they can be better understood, as well as gain a better understanding of the other participant. The overall goal is to empower participants so they are better able to resolve issues in an informed manner and make the changes that move them through the conflict. Mediation includes a written plan if agreement is reached and desired.

Background

I have provided parenting plan, open adoption and guardianship mediation through the State of Oregon roster and from private referrals since 2000. I have provided domestic relations mediation since 2012. I have provided individual therapy to young adults and older, and therapy to couples and families for nearly twenty-years. My practice includes families with children in grandparent care, foster care and adoptive families. I also facilitated approximately 250 meetings for families involved with Social Services in Massachusetts, Arizona, and Oregon.
